The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB) will host a three-part beekeeping workshop for beginners. All three sessions will take place at UAPB, August 11, 18, and 25 in the SJ Parker 1890 Extension Complex auditorium located at 2300 LA “Prexy” Davis Drive. Workshops will start at 10 a.m. and end at 1 p.m.
Dr Yong Park, Associate Professor of Agriculture at UAPB and an entomologist/beekeeper, will lead the sessions, which will cover bee biology, the basics of beekeeping, pest/disease management and keeping hives healthy. health.
The three-session course costs $30. The fee, which covers a beekeeping manual and packed lunches, must be paid before attending the course. Payments can be made in Room 112 of the SJ Parker Agricultural Research Center located at 2102 Oliver Road at UAPB.
Payments must be made by check or money order only. Cash will not be accepted. Payments should be made payable to “UAPB Small Farm Program”. All monies are non-refundable.
