Strather Academy Holds Black Wealth Seminars During Black History Month

Detroit, Michigan – The motivation of the “Black Wealth Matters” movement is Herbert J. Strather. He is a commercial real estate developer from Detroit who proposes to create new urban real estate developers in 2022 in the city of Detroit. Strather was once chairman of Motorcity Casino and Resort, lead investor in Woodbridge Estates, former chairman of the investment group tasked with remodeling the historic St Regis Hotel and completed over $2 billion in real estate transactions in the city of Detroit. Strather is also the greatest club builder of Optimist Clubs International in its 123-year history. (The primary purpose of the Optimist Club is to aid and encourage the development of young people, in the belief that the gift of self in the service of others will advance the well-being of humanity, community life and the world ).

Strather is the CEO of a Michigan-licensed black-owned real estate school in Detroit called Strather Academy. “Black Wealth Matters” is this year’s theme, and the school is motivating that sentiment by offering affordable classes to Detroit residents. All classes are only $99.00 each and will be held live on Zoom every Thursday from 6:00-8:00 PM EST, starting February 3.rd on the 24th.

Classes will be delivered as follows:

  • February 3, 2022 – The Art of Wealth Creation with Real Estate
  • February 10, 2022 -Setting up the right entities to create and house your assets
  • 17 Feb 2022 -Acquire real estate and create wealth with a non-profit organization

Strather Academy, a subsidiary of Strather Associates, was established in 2006 at Wayne County Community College by Herb Strather to teach real estate acquisition skills to Detroiters. The first 1,000 students received free education at the WCCCD. The business then moved to Marygrove College where Mr. Strather taught for two years. Finally, Strather Academy became an autonomous institution. However, Mr. Strather occasionally teaches at Harvard University Divinity School where he teaches Faith and Finance and at the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan.

The philosophy of the academy is to teach by doing. Mr. Strather believes that the best approach is “doing it”. When a student gets involved in a project, he learns through experience rather than theory. And certainly, learning with an experienced coach is much better than trying to learn by trial and error.

In recent years, students at Strather Academy have formed three successful joint ventures Apollo I, Apollo II, and Apollo III.

Train the next generation of Detroit real estate entrepreneurs who will rebuild and re-establish Detroit as a world-class metropolis.
