River Region Drama Guild is preparing a summer workshop for young actors – L’Observateur

NORCO – River Region Drama Guild Inc. will host a Summer Workshop for Young Actors – Broadway Bound with special guest presenters.

Saturday May 29 – Voice

Carrie St. Louis – (Glinda in Wicked) – Carrie is a true Broadway star with one of the best smiles on The Great Bright Way! She is best known for her bubble comings and goings eight times a week as the ever-popular Glinda, both on Broadway and on the Wicked Nationwide Tour. She also starred on Broadway as Lauren in Kinky Boots and Sherrie in Rock of Ages – serious belt roles! Campers will have the opportunity to ask her for all the details on wearing the big blue bubble dress and the flight over Oz!

Saturday June 5 – Choreography

Michael James Scott – (Genie in Aladdin) Michael is a proven Broadway star vet! Granting wishes left and right as Aladdin’s Genie, Michael has had the honor of playing the role around the world, including on Broadway, the North American Tour, London, and Australia. He was also in the original Broadway companies in Something Rotten, The Book of Mormon and All Shook Up. Michael loves sharing stories from his travels around the world, teaching some of his favorite dance combinations, and sharing what it was like to win the Australian version of the Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Musical!

Saturday June 12 – Hang with Hamilton

Thayne Jasperson – (Hear Ye, Hear He! ”Original Samuel Seabury from Broadway) – Thayne Jasperson will join to answer questions from campers about the show’s development with Lin-Manuel Miranda, the filming process for Disney Plus, and even more! Thayne is the only member of the original Broadway cast still performing, with a record number of performances to his name. He has also appeared in High School Musical and in Newsies on Broadway. Campers will connect with Thayne to hear the incredible behind-the-scenes stories, and he will share about when he received a note Meryl Streep wrote to him after watching the show!

Tia Altinay – (Peggy in Hamilton) – From Princess Jasmine to Aladdin to Peggy in Hamilton, Tia Altinay has played some pretty enviable roles throughout her tremendous career! An accomplished professional, Tia has worked hard to earn her place in the industry, having also starred in Mary Poppins and A Christmas Story on Broadway. She enjoys connecting with fans to discuss training, discipline, auditions and Peggy. Campers will have the opportunity to ask her when she turned down an audition in Hamilton.
