Please join us on Thursday 3 June 2021 at 11:00 a.m. for a press conference where we will provide additional information on our re-entry collaboration.

The Anne Arundel County Police Department will hold a press conference on the new Community Collaboration and Reintegration Program. Mr. Derek Mathews, creator and manager of the program, started working on this community policing based initiative in December 2020 and today we are announcing the full implementation of this community outreach. The Reintegration and Community Collaboration Program hosts an interagency partnership between county departments, including the Department of Health, Department of Corrections, Workforce Development, Department Family Services, AA Co. Mental Health, and other community organizations. The goal is to help provide a holistic approach to helping residents of Anne Arundel County reintegrate into the community, especially former incarcerated people, veterans and youth. The mission is to equip participants with marketable skill sets to foster career opportunities and achieve stability in the community.

The Reintegration Collaborative Program will provide residents of Anne Arundel County with access to services, links to resources and, most importantly, support. The program offers a multitude of services including, but not limited to the following:

  • Back-to-school support
  • GED preparation
  • Drug and alcohol abuse treatment
  • Health
  • Job search and training
  • Anger management
  • Benefits of military service
  • Mental health counseling

The Anne Arundel County Police Department is engaged in community policing. The Reintegration Collaborative Program is another part of our quest to serve our residents, reaffirming our County Executive’s commitment to making Anne Arundel County the best place for everyone.
