Notes, injury updates from Seahawks press conferences after landslide loss to Rams

Thursday night was a disaster for the Seahawks, as they fell to 2-3 while losing starting quarterback Russell Wilson to a finger injury. We haven’t heard from Russ after the game, but here’s what you need to know from the press conferences with Pete Carroll, Quandre Diggs, Tyler Lockett and Geno Smith.

Let’s start with the most important news: Pete Carroll’s updates on Russell Wilson’s finger injury.

We’ve received a few more updates on Pete Carroll’s injuries on wide receivers Penny Hart and Gerald Everett.

Quandre Diggs was fuming about the Seahawks’ defensive performance after the game. The Seahawks have allowed over 450 yards in four straight games, becoming the fourth team since merger to do so. No team has ever allowed 450 yards in five straight games, and no team has ever won more than six games in a season after enjoying a four-game streak.

Despite the terrible defensive performance, the Seahawks still had a chance to win late, but Geno Smith threw a late interception on a bad no-call for pass interference. Tyler Lockett claimed responsibility for the play.

I’ll try to end Thursday’s press conference notes with a few positives here. Michael Dickson had a cool double punt, and Geno Smith looked like he was ready for NFL football.

Let’s move on to some updates on Pete Carroll’s Friday presser injuries.

Carroll was also on 710ESPN Seattle this morning to talk about Russell Wilson’s injury and last night’s game.

Here’s a little more on the implications of Carroll’s description of the injury:
