Major announcements made at technical conferences in 2021

Besides the exchange of knowledge and ideas, technical conferences are a great way for companies to introduce customers to the new products, innovations and experiences they are working on. Like in other years, we’ve seen big names in tech host conferences virtually or offline. Let’s take a look at some of the biggest organized this year and the announcements they made.

Log in 2021

In a major decision, CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced that Facebook changed its name to Meta at Connect 2021 which was held recently. Meta’s reach will go far beyond social media. The metaverse will give the feeling of a hybrid structure of online social experiences extended to the physical world. Starting in the fourth quarter of 2021, the company will report on two operational segments of Family of Apps and Reality Labs.

NVIDIA has also jumped on the Metaverse train. He announced Omniverse VR, where creators, designers, researchers and engineers can connect leading design tools and assets to collaborate in a shared virtual space. He also revealed Omniverse Avatar, a new platform for creating interactive AI avatars using computer vision, NLP, and simulation technologies. The company also showed us the NVIDIA Omniverse Replicator, an engine that generates synthetic data to train deep neural networks. NVIDIA also announced that Omniverse Enterprise is now available to everyone.

Microsoft Ignite 2021

He made a multitude of announcements on computer products.

  • Azure Percept – It uses artificial intelligence and machine learning capabilities to provide IT developers with tools to use Azure AI technologies at the edge.
  • New Azure Arc features. He believes Ark is the first control panel of its kind to extend Azure Security Governance development tools and managed Azure services to any infrastructure, whether it’s multi-cloud on-premises or at the edge.
  • Several new features for Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Teams such as meeting attendee extension, Microsoft Teams Connect which allows users to share channels within an organization or externally, Microsoft PowerPoint Live in Microsoft Teams, etc.

IBM Think 2021

In May of this year, IBM announced a capability in its IBM Cloud Pak for Data, a new AutoSQL technology that uses AI to automate data access, integration, and management for AI, without having to move them. IBM Mono2Micro, which was released in IBM WebSphere Hybrid Edition, uses AI to scan and analyze enterprise applications and give recommendations on how to rewrite them for containers and microservices.

Part of the announcements was the IBM Watson Orchestrate for sales, human resources, and operations professionals, which uses an AI engine that connects to business applications and tools such as calendar and messaging. He also showed us Maximo Mobile, an easy-to-deploy mobile platform, as part of the IBM Maximo suite of applications.

VMworld 2021

At the VMworld 2021 event held in October, the company announced the launch of VMware Cross-Cloud services. He said the services will help businesses migrate to the cloud faster and provide customers with the ability to build, deploy and secure applications in any cloud. VMware showcased cloud infrastructure and management for cross-cloud services, VMware Tanzu portfolio advancements, and launched VMware Edge, among other announcements.

Google Cloud Next 2021

In October, Google showcased a range of cloud-based features and products, such as:

  • Google Distributed Cloud, a collection of fully managed hardware and software solutions that run on edge and data centers.
  • Google Cloud Cortex Framework and Cloud Build Hybrid: Cloud Build Hybrid allows developers to build, test, and deploy to clouds and on-premises systems, while Google Cloud Cortex Framework allows customers to gain insight and reduce time to value with reference architectures. , packaged services and deployment accelerators.

Google for India 2021

Google recently led the 7th “Google for India” initiative and introduced several innovations to transform India into a leading digital economy. Some of the main ones include:

  • Google has introduced the Google Career Certificates that will help new graduates gain the skills they need in IT support, IT automation, project management, data analytics, and UX design.
  • It announced the very first Google Assistant-enabled end-to-end vaccine booking flow in India.
  • Teams up with the Indian Meteorological Department to issue weather alerts for all extreme weather conditions.
  • New features for payments like Groups and Bill Split on Google Pay.
