Louisiana Tech faculty to present research at biennial Inversion Theory Conference

Dr. Mitzi Desselles, Associate Professor of Psychology and Behavioral Sciences at Louisiana Tech University, along with several PhD students and recent Louisiana Tech graduates, will present their research at the 21st Biennial Inversion Theory Conference hosted by Paris 8 University in Paris, France.

“The opportunity for our professors and doctoral students from Louisiana Tech University to present their research at this international conference will bring worldwide recognition to the College of Education and to our Psychology and Behavioral Sciences program,” said Dr Lindsey Keith. -Vincent, Associate Dean for Research. , Outreach and Innovation at the College of Education.

The lecture will focus on flexibility, emotional regulation, change process and inversion theory.

Inversion theory deals with the fact that personalities often change and are inconsistent, which means that humans can have different personalities at different times depending on their environment and stability.

“In today’s rapidly changing society, it is necessary to have the psychological flexibility to adapt to ever-changing contexts, whether at work or in personal relationships,” said Keith- vincent. “Reversal Theory offers a model for understanding reversals of psychological, emotional, and motivational states.”
