Denver Fashion Week begins: workshops, shows, presentations

DENVER, CO – Denver Fashion Week is scheduled to begin Tuesday at the McNichols Civic Center Building. Attendees can learn from industry leaders in their state, who will offer workshops and performances on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.

The week kicks off Tuesday with a runway modeling workshop – Southwest Model and Talent Agency directors Nikki Strickler and Kiana Johnson will help new and established models looking to hone their craft.

“The two have worked as role models internationally and are able to share crucial information about the ins and outs of the industry,” organizers said in a press release.


The next day, attendees can attend a presentation on how to identify their intellectual property and how to develop a strategy to establish, monitor and protect their intellectual property rights, which the organizers call an “asset” for those in charge. The fashion industry.

Molly Kocialski, regional director of Rocky Mountain US Patent and Trademark Office, and Taryn Elliot, who manages the intellectual property portfolios of law firm Polsinelli, are expected to make a presentation.

After two days of industry workshops, fashionistas can attend three shows – one focusing on ‘ready to wear’ clothing on Thursdays, the other showcasing local designers on Saturdays and the other showcasing fashion. sustainable on Sunday.

Emerging and established designers and boutiques from Denver and across the country will showcase key seasonal styles from their collections, with help from hairstylists, makeup artists and models, officials said.

The event was launched in 2012 as a way to support Colorado’s fashion industry. In 2018, the event partnered with Denver Arts & Venues and Visit Denver to become the city’s first official Fashion Week.
