As we have already shared, Bellevue is planning for the next 20 years. The community is invited to learn about the issues and share ideas on housing, sustainability and mobility.
According to the City of Bellevue, over the next 20 years the city expects 70,000 additional jobs and at least 35,000 housing units. The comprehensive plan is the best tool to address growth while maintaining a high quality of life for members of one’s community.
Several meetings will take place over the next few months and the community is invited to explore the larger issues facing Bellevue. They want to hear any ideas you might have about how the city can grow.
Each interactive workshop will be a discussion group on a particular area. Participants will review the data, ask questions and engage in small group discussions.
The program of these workshops/meetings is as follows:
- Wed 3 Aug – Place & Spaces: Create complete communities. How to create great places of social and civic connection?
- Wed 24 Aug – Access: Jobs, Services & Commodities. How can we ensure people can get to work, shops, cafes and other amenities close to home?
- Thursday September 15 – Housing: Diversity & Choice. How can we provide housing that meets the needs of people at all stages of life and at all income levels?
Each session will take place at the Bellevue City Hall. Workshops start at 6:00 p.m., but attendees are welcome to come in at 5:30 p.m. to review the data and ask questions of the staff. They end at 8 p.m.
To attend the workshop(s), registration is required. Light refreshments will be served.
